The Instructor of Theology at Cleary University in North Canton, Ohio, and the Director of the Office of Ministry to African American Catholics for the Diocese of Cleveland had a traditional Jehovah's Witness upbringing. However, he started questioning his beliefs at the age of 12 when a close friend passed away. He left the Jehovah's Witnesses when he turned 18 but took a long time to find a new spiritual home.
