Communion to the Homebound
The St. Michael Eucharistic Outreach Program, Communion to the Homebound, brings Holy Communion to our parishioners who are homebound for various reasons. It has been a largely unnoticed but quietly successful program that has reached many in profoundly spiritual and moving ways.
The program pairs two Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion with each parishioner wishing to receive the Eucharist every Saturday or Sunday. Many wonderful and rewarding relationships have been formed and some Ministers have become fast friends with their Communion recipients, staying extra moments to visit and share their time and lives with one another.
We are more than happy to provide Holy Communion to someone recovering from an accident, surgery, or something which will keep them from attending Mass for a few weeks or months. If you would like the Eucharist brought to your home, please contact the Parish Office.

The Holy Communion to the Homebound program brings Sunday Holy Communion to our homebound parishioners. Two Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are paired with a parishioner wishing to receive the Eucharist each Saturday or Sunday but who is homebound for various reasons. This allows each minister the flexibility to accommodate personal plans, family needs, and vacations without neglecting the homebound person. If your schedule permits, a Holy Communion Minister may bring Our Lord to the homebound any weekday after morning Mass. This is one of those opportunities which gives spiritual joy to the Holy Communion Minister as well as the homebound.
A brief training session is required for all outreach ministers. We will provide the training, the pyx, burse, and a prayer card which has everything you need to do and say. Is our good and gracious Lord calling you to this ministry? Please contact the parish rectory.
