2024 Lent

Lent Special Events

Fish Fry-days
Fridays throughout out Lent, our school’s cafeteria will be hosting our annual Fish Fry. Starting February 16 from 4:30 –7:00 PM, grab your friends and family and a plate for all–you–can–eat dine-in or carry-out! Please remember this is a cash-only event.
Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross commemorate Jesus's passion and death on the cross. There are 14 stations that each depict a moment on his journey to Calvary through sacred art, prayers, and reflections. Join us on Fridays starting February 16 at 7:00 pm in the church. Please note there will not be a Stations of the Cross on March 1 due to First Friday Mass & Adoration.
There will be a special Stations of the Cross on Good Friday at 2:30 pm.
Private Confessions
St. Michael offers confessions every Saturday at 3:30 pm in the Church. This Lent season, we will hold a Private Sacrament of Reconciliation on Monday, March 11, and Wednesday, March 13, from 7:00 - 8:00 pm.
Lenten Taizé
Our St. Michael’s Choir, along with some other instrumentalists, will be leading the Taizé service. The church will be lit with candles to offer a very calm environment. In a Taizé service, short songs are sung, some with verse, and some just repeated refrains. We will have words for you to sing along as they are very easily learned. Repetition allows time to listen and pray through the songs. Please join us for this peaceful & reflective evening of prayer on February 24 at 7:30 pm.
Women’s Lent Retreat
Save the date for our Women’s Lent Retreat presented by our SMA Women’s Spirituality Group on March 20. Stay tuned for more details.
Easter Egg Hunt
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will be on March 23 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Children in second grade and younger are invited along with their parents and grandparents. There will be crafts, games, and a eggs-cellent chance that the Easter Bunny will make an appearance. So bring your camera! Pre-registration is required for attendance and will open up late this month.
Family Pancake Breakfast
Presented by our Ushers., family and friends of SMA are invited to gather around the breakfast table with a stack of pancakes. Our Family Pancake Breakfast will be on February 11 and Palm Sunday from 8:30 am—12:00 pm.  This is a cash-only event.
Baby Bottle Drive—Alms Giving Project
