This weekend, our parish is taking up a special collection for our priests’ retirement, With Thanks for their
Service in Christ. This collection will support the Priests’ Pension Plan, which provides a monthly pension as well
as health and automobile insurance to priests at age 70.
As you may know, our senior priests are being called upon more than ever to continue their service to parishes
across the archdiocese. No longer assigned to a parish that takes care of them, these men rely on minimal Social Security benefits and their pensions from the Priests’ Pension Plan for basic needs, such as food, housing, and transportation.
Please show your gratitude to those priests who have cared for and ministered to our community by prayerfully
reflecting on how you can best help support our priests’ retirement with a gift to the With Thanks for Their Service
