Youth Group News
Our newly, reinvigorated, parish youth group is off to a great start! We’ve had three meetings full of conversation, prayer, food and fun activities. At our 1st meeting during Lent, we had a special Lenten prayer and reflected on the traditional practices of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. We also made Lenten soft pretzels and learned the history and meaning behind them. From mixing all the ingredients and forming the “crossed prayer arms” to baking them in the oven, the group enjoyed making this delicious snack.
At a previous meeting, we discussed the mission of the group and set some goals which the group unanimously decided would include service projects in the parish as well as the surrounding community. We are currently working on assisting with the parish Easter egg hunt, filling eggs and organizing some games for the kids. The group hopes to work together at a soup kitchen in the near future.
Our youth group meets every other Sunday after the Noon Mass at 1:00 PM in the convent. Our next meeting will be on April 6 and we encourage anyone in grades 9-12 to join us. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to [email protected]
