Did you know that the Gospel of Mark is the shortest of all 3 synoptic gospels?
Have you ever realized how Mark conveys in brief, pithy writing what takes the other gospels authors much longer to describe?
Do you understand why Jesus repeatedly asks others to not tell anyone about the signs and miracles he has been performing?
Did you realize that Jesus tries to conceal his identity more in Mark’s gospel than in any other yet in no other gospel is his identity more fully on display “for those who have ears to hear”?
You will find the answers to these and many other questions in Gary Michuta’s upcoming Thursday evening Bible Study on 2nd and 4th Thursdays, beginning September 25th, at 7 PM, in the SMA School Library. This is an in-depth study Gary has been teaching here at St. Michael’s for many years and we are indeed blessed to have an instructor of such stature. Gary is a well-known Catholic apologist, speaker, and author of many books such as Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger, Making Sense of Mary, Revolt Against Reality, Hostile Witnesses: How the Historic Enemies of the Church Prove Christianity, How to Wolf-Proof Your Kids, and The Gospel of Truth, among others. He is a long-standing instructor of on-line apologetics for junior and senior high school students for Home School Connections and a frequent radio host and guest on many national media outlets, including The Journey Home, Catholic Answers Live, Morning Glory with Brian Patrick, Deep in Scripture, and Searching the Word.
The class is open to anyone interested in becoming more comfortable with reading and understanding Scripture. There are no registration or materials requirements. Why not start the new school year out right and give it a try!
